About ISO/SAE 21434
The standard ISO/SAE 21434 “Road vehicles – Cybersecurity Engineering” contains important activities and aspects regarding cybersecurity in the development of electrical and electronic (E/E) systems in road vehicles. This enables organisations to define cybersecurity policies and processes, manage cybersecurity risks and promote a cybersecurity culture.
Consequently, development teams are able to keep pace with changing technologies and attack methods.
ISO/SAE 21434 Reference to ISO 26262
The ISO SAE 21434 standard is similar in structure to the ISO 26262 standard “Road vehicles – Functional safety” and also refers to it in individual sections. Both standards accompany the entire life cycle of electrical and electronic (E/E) systems of road vehicles including their components and interfaces: from concept to development, production, operation, maintenance and decommissioning.
